I grew up everyday becoming more and more obsessed with the channel,  TLC. I was completely hooked on watching Trading Spaces, While You Were Out and so many more of those glorious shows. I am an admitted decor addict.  I’m pretty positive that my parents regret letting me watch them because about once a year-no scratch that-about every four months I would get bored with my room and claim I had all of these amazing new ideas. Of course they did not let me redo my room that often but I was able to change the paint color about three different times. That’s like giving an artist a paintbrush and no paint by the way. Each time I fell in love with planning my room by putting paint, accessories and fabric together. It was in that first brush stroke that I knew interior design was what I wanted to do.  FOR-E-VER!
I started my never-ending school career in the fall of 2006. I did not want to go to your typical artsy crafty school and be entirely design focused just for the slight chance I would change my major. You know the average person changes their major about seven times before they graduate?! Well let us just say that I am not an average person. So I went to Union University in TN and majored in art. Well, no need to go on and on about it but I didn’t like it and left after a semester.  Off I went to Bethel University. Once again I was not a happy camper but my parents told me I needed to stick it out and give it some time. I’m the type of person that knows if something is going to work well or not right away but I listened to them regardless. I stayed for a  year and a half and when I left, I ran. I know, I know…all this transferring is becoming a bit ridiculous. However, the third time was the charm for me.  I went to ILIS in Schaumburg and finally majored in Interior Design. At last I was a happy camper-roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. Apparently artsy crafty was exactly what I needed!
I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design in December of 2010. Let me tell you, that was the best feeling I have ever had in the world! It’s better than Disney World! I felt like that day would never show up and there I was moving my tassel to the other side of my cap.  I had done it and I was proud of my major accomplishment! After graduation, it took me a little time to find a job that I thought suited me as well as I suited them. The minute that I stepped into Exceed Flooring for my first interview I knew that this was the place I wanted to work at. About a week later I received the call I had been happily awaiting for and the rest is history!
